Join PBSHRM for our May Luncheon on Tuesday May 14th at Mid-Cities Community Church Room AC2 from 11:30-1:00 for an engaging  session on "Stressing the Importance of Building and Enforcing a Solid Policy."


Presented by the Permian Basin Regional Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse


This presentation will include substance use trends in the Permian Basin and how they relate to the oil field. A review of some DOT regulations and some data related to this. Additionally, attendees will briefly explore benefits of utilizing an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and resources in our community to help those with substance use disorders. Attendees should expect to learn more about drug trends happening in West Texas, specific drugs of concern in the oil field population, DOT regulations pertaining to their employees, and existing resources for the population at-hand. 

Guest Speakers:

Kayla Fishbeck, MSPH and Michael Tarango

Permian Basin Regional Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse

Kayla obtained her Masters of Science in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and began working in the field of substance use about 1.5 years ago. She began as a Regional Evaluator and has since moved to the Director role of this program. Michael is new to the world of substance use prevention and began working with the PRC three months ago as the Community Liaison. Michael has many years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and adds a unique perspective to the substance use prevention field.
